Menu of the Day:

Last song purchased from iTunes: Don't laugh, but it was Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell. (Brian had something to do with this.)

Can give up: my one hour commute, the google redirect virus that I cannot get rid of, the last 30 lbs I need to lose.

Don't want to give up: Coffee, music, books

Three celebrity crushes: Bono circa 1985-1988, Daniel Craig - can't wait for the new Bond movie, George Clooney

Three things always in my fridge: Yoplait light yogurt, apples and Diet Mountain Dew

Three lies: I will take my daughter on vacation, I will start cleaning house on a regular basis (not just when someone is coming over), and I will schedule that colonosocpy.

Three home decor things I hate: Fake plants (when I bought this house the old lady had planted plastic flowers in the yard), knick knacks, flowery curtains or wallpaper

Things I hope will happen: Obama wins, Rush Limbaugh gets caught in some scandal that he can weasel out of and has to retire, Georgia becomes a blue state.

Three things in the deabate-
"Proceed, Govenor"; Obama's energy; Romensia - what a great word!!!

hay!!!!

Yesterday i reactivated my Facebook account but i dumped 75 friends. I know i just said i can live without it and i think i can leave it open without visiting as i used to. We'll see. I dumped a lot of work folks who pretty much post the same political stuff over and over and a few folks i don't even know. Some i do like in person, i just don't need the newsfeed and if i never had a real exchange with them it was easy to let them go. I hope i haven't offended anyone.

I may not leave it up, but i wanted to check in with my nieces and nephews and give them the scoop on voting no on charter schools, the Eyman intiative and some others that they might not be interested in.

susie, schedule that colonoscopy...it's not bad really. (pap smears are much worse i think!)

Yes! WALLPAPER...on my list of hates in the home decor. How did i forget? Also fake wood laminate flooring. definitely clutter.

I was trying to think if Jon Stewart's Daily Show coined "Romnesia"... Does anybody know?

I never had understood tile countertops. I love tile. I hate worrying about the grout!

hahaha.... dream catchers and stenciled grapevines are good ones.

I have been thinking of more home decor hates. I hope i don't offend anyone:

Anything ruffle-y-ish. Like valances.
*Anything doily like. Or afghan-y knitted stuff.
*I used to like wreaths. Now i hate them.
*Too much stuff on kitchen counters. I have the smallest kitchen around but somehow i manage to keep my counters free of clutter. if i can do it, anyone can.
*Fake wood anything. Especially flooring.
*That sponge-y faux painting technique thing that people did back in the 1990's on their walls.
* Speaking of walls: White walls! (I can't believe i left this one out!)
*This attitude that everyone MUST HAVE stainless steel appliances in their kitchen. AND granite. Have you ever tried to keep stainless steel clean? It's not easy.
*wall to wall carpeting.
*wall paneling.

uh oh... i think i just described my mother in law's house!

jojo cucina cucina said...

except for the granite and stainless steel and sponge blot painting this is my mother in law's house.

celebrity crushes: Johnny Depp, Jensen Ackles, Jon Stewart

2nd debate - glad O got his mojo back; re 3rd debate - scary how clueless romney is about foreign policy (disclaimer: i haven't watched any of the debates, just read articles and watched the post mortems).

jojo cucina cucina said...

Barbara. who is Jensen Ackles????

hey you know how i like to say that people look like famous people? I already said Jeff looks like Arliss Howard (the guy at the end of "Moneyball" and the musician in that really great movie from early 1990's called "Men Don't Leave" ...but i was also thinking he looks something like Mark Knopfler too!

jojo cucina cucina said...

OK, i'll be changing this up soon. I didn't forget the opening lines of novels. And i have a new product endorsement. I know, i know.... y'all can hardly wait! I think tomorrow i have some time.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Also, my friend Julie (jj here) gave me a book with this title....(I am not making this up).

"In My Humble Opinion: a journal to vent about why people are like that and why all the stupid things they do are so obvious to me, from not using their turn signals to believing they're the center of the universe to sweating the small stuff to ignoring the fact that we're all just trying to make our way in this insanely crowded world but some of us are doing it a whole lot better than others. "

hahahahahaha! Somebody stole my title!

He's in Supernatural. Which is Mel's favorite show and basically the only thing I watch on tv.

I can see the knopfler resemblance, but I think arliss (haha, autocorrect changed arliss to arousal!) is closer.

Lol, I want to read that book!

photography

Three celebrity crushes:

Kelly Preston (Jon Travolta's wife)
Joey Heatherton (OMG, this is my DAD's CRUSH!...does anyone under the age of 60 remember her?)
Julia Ormand (from Legends of the Fall)

Actually my husband wants more than three, but i cut him off. Partly because he couldn't remember their names only the movies they were in: for example ...the Binochette chick and some actress who also had a famous actress mother and i said "melanie Griffith?...and he said no, short haired dark Italian. And it ended at that. We don't know. But if you do, please post it.

Three things without fail, that are ALWAYS in my refrigerator:

parmesan cheese

Three things i hope will happen:

That the people i care about live long and happily.
That my band has a song someday that gets on iTunes...
That i get my photos organized.
