Here they come!
Did the Democrat candidates in the past always wear a blue tie and the Republican always wear red?

O: "We still have a lot of work to do". He's talking to us.

Romney scored with the comment about romantic places spending it with ME, as he said to Obama.
Here we go with the stories. Sometimes i like the stories and sometimes i get really tired of the candidates acting like they are neighbors with these downtrodden folks who have lost their jobs and homes.

I gotta admit, i think Romney might be a good debater. My husband thinks Romney is channeling Reagan by trying to use Reagan's voice. I have to admit he does sound a bit like Ronald Reagan when he speaks!

jojo cucina cucina said...

When Obama speaks i think he is channeling Fred Armison from SNL! hahahaha. Speaking of SNL, i am not sure i am going to like the new guy doing Obama, but i will give him a chance.

Romney talking taxes and Romney is trying to pretend he cares about the middle class and tax cuts.

Fucking Microsoft. I have to switch laptops because my PC netbook keeps telling me to RESTART because of Windows updates. I am now typing from Brian's MacBook.

Romney likes coal and he's coming across alittle bit strident, doncha think?

jojo cucina cucina said...

I cannot reduce the burden paid by high end Americans. He is trying to defend rich people.

Course i am biased but when Obama responds he sounds much calmer than Romney. He's talking about his middle class tax cuts. And he is talking about the 5 trillion tax cuts that Romney wants, but he doesn't identify by what those loopholes are. The ONLY way to meet by not adding to the deficit is by adding to the middle class families.

Romney says he is not looking for $5 trillion. He will not add to the deficit. He wont' reduce the share with the high income payers. I want to bring the rates down, he says. The reason for lowering the rates i because small business pay them. For me this is about jobs, says Romney.

Obama says for 18 months he has run on the tax plan and now he says never mind in the past 5 weeks. Obama challenges the math. Obama has lowered small business taxes 18 times. He has said for incomes over $250,000 a year that we need to go back to Clinton's plan. That is the way to reduce the deficit.

OH damn. i am so far not finding the funny in this because there is none. Maybe after i am on my second glass of wine i will start making shit up to make this readable.

OH Donald Trump doesn't like to think of himself as small anything, says Obama and it doesn't get a laugh. Was it supposed to be funny?

jojo cucina cucina said...

We are way over our time.
"It's fun, isn't it?" says Romney. Score a funny for Romney.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Obama is taking a cue from Bill Clinton when he talked at the Democratic Convention. He's using a lot of math. I imagine that Romney might be good at math too.

I like math, so i'm good with this.

jojo cucina cucina said...

wait a fucking second here! Romney is trying to strong arm and be the boss with Jim Lehrer because he wants to speak when Lehrer says that is not how it works because he has to wait his turn. And Jim is trying to cut him off and Romney keeps talking.

Hmmmmm. I don't think Romney is used to having to wait his turn.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Romney is going to get rid of Obamacare and he apologies for using that term and Obama responds, "I like that."

Romney likes Big Bird and Jim Lehrer? What did i miss?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Obama is reminding us all where the deficit came from when he walked into office. All the stuff not paid for. He walked into a shitstorm and he is reminding us that we did not slip into the GReat Depression II. Good for you, cause back in 2009 I have to admit i really thought we were headed there. So much in fact that i tried to give my union raise back that had been bargained earlier in 2008 before the shitstorm blew in.

jojo cucina cucina said...

louie, i have to say i miss you. Right about now you would be weighing in with your funny takes.

Not long ago i was bored and sometimes when i am bored i go back and re-read stuff on my blog and i looked at our Academy Awards live blog post that had over 90 comments and it was pretty funny reading it again.

jojo cucina cucina said...

I can already tell that this debate is going to be a draw. I wish Romney was worse at this, but he isn't. HOWEVER, he is a little bit strident. i can't think of a better word for what he is doing. Maybe even a slightly bit manic? That's how he comes across, however he is probably making points with his constituents.

Dont' you love that word constituents?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Who do you think would be better in bed having watched this debate?

hahahaha...... I'm sure Romney is a premature ejaculator, just by the way he talks. I don't care how handsome he is. I wouldn't sleep with him.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Now Obama is hitting the oil industry getting their huge tax breaks.
GO OBAMA!!! EXXON does not need our money. Why wouldn't we want to eliminate those breaks indeed!

jojo cucina cucina said...

Uh oh. Obama is talking about a teacher in Vegas with 42 students and textbooks that are 10 years old, but this is happening under his term.

Romney is coming back point by point. I am starting to see why Romney was very successful at Bain. He is acting like he is in charge of everyone n the room.

Obama is in danger of using body language that is equivalent to AL Gore's heavy sighs. Don't get there Obama?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Now we're on social security. Please don't talk about a LOCKBOX!

oh, Obama switches topics to Medicare AND social security and is talking about his gramma.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Medicare: strengthen it by bringing down cost by where some of the money is going. This is Obama talking. Let's not overpay insurance companies and providers. That helps with preventive care and lower prescriptions.

Romney: They are in agreement on social security and Medicare. If you are over 60 you don't need to listen any further.

HAHAHA. as if any young folks are even watching this debate!!!!

jojo cucina cucina said...

I am counting myself in there as a younger person EVEN though i am 55 years old. I am worried it won't be there for me even as i am close to getting it!

Young people coming. Romney has you covered he says.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Obama takes issue with the voucher program for Medicare for future. Obama tells the young folks to listen too. Voucher to seniors works where they go and find their health care. But it would cost them $6000 a year. Because insurance companies will figure out who is younger and healthier seniors so over time the traditional system will collapse and Obama's gramma will not have health care at the time she needs it!

Obama reiterates how he is fond of the term Obamacare.

I agree. I like it too.

My niece Kylee/modern hippie who used to blog here has health care because of Obama. She is 22 years old and has a pre-existing condition when she was diagnosed at the age of 19 of having lupus.

jojo cucina cucina said...

This is a rather boring debate because i know both sides are going to love their guy. I know that i do. I think Obama is doing great. But Romney is not bombing. He is much better than McCain and Bush at this.

So i think i need to start drinking more.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Dammit Jim Lehrer. Grow a fucking pair! Cut Romney off. He is not paying your salary!

jojo cucina cucina said...

Romney is getting manic now. Seriously. The man needs a beta blocker!

And Lehrer just grew a pair when he cut Romney off and said "let's not" about going on.

I like that Romney is coming across as a bit desperate.

Obama: talking about the bank's risky behavior. Does anyone out there think that there was too much oversight on Wall Street? if you do, then Romney is your candidate.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Lehrer is moving to health care with Obamacare. And Romney is pretending that he did not sort of invent this in his own state of Mass. when he was governor.

Obama is now talking about pre-existing conditions and how insurance companies imposed limits. We are talking about my niece Kylee now.

This is part about making sure middle class families are taken care of. It's not a government take-over. But insurance companies can;'t jerk you around and your kids are on until they are 26. #2. If you don't have it, you could get into a group plan.

We see this in Romney's own state because Romney invented Obamacare in his state. which is what i just said earlier.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Remember when the Republicans tried to paint John Kerry as a flipflopper? Romney is a FAR FAR bigger FlipFlopper than Kerry ever was.

That's why i capitalized the Fs.

I love Fs. They are some of my favorite words.

Fuck.
Fantasy
French Fries
Fafalell (even though i cannot spell it OR pronounce it, it just makes me happy to see it!)
Facts
Fornicate (back in the 1990s)
Foo Fighters

hahaha... if you are reading can you tell the wine is starting to set in with me?

And if you are reading would you please check in and say you are?

jojo cucina cucina said...

And come and tell us what your favorite F words are!

jojo cucina cucina said...

Obama: by repealing Obamacare you will have 15 million people lose health care.

Romney is calmer again. He is trying to talk about how he can bring health care costs down. And i'm not buying it. So i don't care to take notes on this.

jojo cucina cucina said...

For example. Now Obama is taking issue with Romney saying he will cover pre-existing conditions. That's what i'm talking about. I don't believe it.

It goes back to a question that i have posed for many years: does someone as rich as Bill Gates actually buy or invest in health insurance? Why would they need to?

If you were so freaking rich that you could never in a 100 years spend all the money you have, why would you need health care in the first fucking place?

jojo cucina cucina said...

The first role of the government is to keep the people safe. ...so says Obama.

And also where Americans can succeed.

And now he segues into education.

Romney: he loves great schools Key is great teachers. The role of government is the Constitution. Life and Liberty. He is talking about religious tolerance. (REALLY?)

jojo cucina cucina said...

My husband just said that Romney needed to do what he needed to do and he is pulling it off. I agree. This is not about the context, it's about how they come across. Even i admit as i am writing i am paying more attention to delivery than context.

Romney is counteracting the calmness of Obama's response by coming across as a president who will kick ass. Because he is asserting himself more in this debate than anyone in the room. It works sometimes, and sometimes it works against Romney. But if you were to look at the transcripts only in writing Obama is the one who makes the case for anyone who is like me....working class...middle class. and the one who cares about the American people as a whole.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Romney" is asking obama about his $90 billion in green jobs and how many teachers they could hire for that money.

Did Obama really put THAT much money into green jobs?

Can i get one of those jobs?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Romney is talking about Massachusetts has the best record in THE NATION. Is that true? And if that's true i want to ask this question of Romney:

So did you send your own four boys to public schools?

JJ said...

Romney looks like he has had plastic surgery. I do not think he is handsome - so he better be really good in bed.

JJ said...

I are

jojo cucina cucina said...

Romney is talking about how he was elected with 87% Democrats . You know why? Because he was different back then. Flip Flopper.
Back in the day he was pro-choice.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Obama: i will take ideas from any Democrat or Republican as long as it advances causes of the middle class.

That is a direct quote.

Obama is summing up how with Republicans they repealed Don't Ask Don't Tell, That's how we ended the war in Iraq as i promised. And that's what i will do in Afghanistan. That's how we went after Al Quida. and how we went after Bin Ladin.

hahaha. after all these years you would think i would know how to spell Al Kida.

Part of leadership and governing is about what you are for and you are against. And that is what Romney has a problem with - standing up to the more extremes.

Here's what my husband said about the Obamacare term. He says with Romney it would be

Romney I Don't Care.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Obama: Romney has not been willing to say NO to his party's extreme views. And that is true. bEcause in truth, i don't even think Romney is that extreme, i think he has been pushed there.

I said, that makes him a coward.
And my husband says that makes him a fucking politician.

And my husband Brian does not use the F-word as freely as i do. So when he says it. it's Gospel.

In my World.

jojo cucina cucina said...

JULIE..... hahaha. i couldn't see earlier that you were posting ! HOW could i forget FRIDAYS... and that other word i don't even know. I'll scroll up and post it behind this.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Feng Shui. ANOTHER great F word.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Brian Williams describes Romney as 'energetic'. I like the word 'strident'.

jojo cucina cucina said...

I wish Brian Williams would moderate one of these debates. There is no way that we would let Romney act like he was the boss.

jojo cucina cucina said...

In conclusion. I am glad we didn't have a Joe the Plumber or the LockBox or the heavy sighs or Can I call you Joe? stupidity of the past debates. However, it does make it more boring to blog about.

Thanks Julie/jj for checking in! You should have just come over to watch with us had i known you would want to watch!

These debates are like porn to me!

hahahah... i just heard as i was typing above about the Big Bird comment (which i posted earlier about and wondered what i missed). Andrea Mitchell is talking about the facts from the debates and here is what she says they are talking about:

Thousands on Twitter are talking about this: Big Bird.

I just know that Jon Stewart is going to take this fact check and run with it. And if he does i am going to take this blog post as a reference so that i can go apply for a job, post-retirement, to do research for the Daily Show.

Goodnight all.

Cannot wait for Nov. 6th.

Amanda said...

I'm excited to see the fact checking in the days that follow. The president looked tired. He didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but I don't think it was the disaster that a lot of media outlets are reporting this morning.

When Obama was talking, Romney had an awful, smug smile on his face. It was as irritating as Sarah Palin's damn winking four years ago.

Also, I think his hair is plastic.

I hope the next one goes better. Romney is an arrogant ass and Obama needs to stop being so polite. I'd like to see some fire in his belly.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Definitely Obama needs to stop being polite, Amanda! Oh yeah, i forgot Sarah Palin's winking. How could i?

The News Tribune poll had Obama winning.

Can't wait to hear about immigration and women's rights and how Romney defends his party on that one. When is the next debate anyway? I hope it's not on one of my phone banking nights!

amulbunny's random thoughts said...

I hope at the next debate the President comes out with guns firing. Romney looked like a smug ass. My daughter said his sons look like frat boys that give girls date rape drugs at parties and screw them.

I think the next one will be better and I can't wait to see Joe wipe the floor with Ryan's skinny little ass.

Romney is so tightly wound that if he farts his face will blow up.

JJ said...

And my final comment - pleasepleaseplease Jo - do a live blog when John Stewart debates Bill O'Rielly. I might even stay up for that. THAT would be like porn to me. I'll be over :)

jojo cucina cucina said...

amulbunny, i can not post on your blog at all. I know i am putting that acapcha (or whatever those squiggly lines are called) in correctly and they say they don't match. There is no way i am getting them wrong 10 times in a row!

amulbunny's random thoughts said...

SEnd me an email then.....magickann@gmail.com

I have to do the capcha thing here too. Wonder why mine is so odd. I'll adjust some settings.
