Anybody here?

It's been over a week since i changed this blog. I had an idea the other night for a subject and i knew i should have written it down (it was about 2 in the morning when i thought of it) but then i told myself i would remember it because it was such a good one.

Only i don't remember it.

I just  downloaded this app about testing your brain. I had fun with it for awhile and scored well on the numbers recognition and matching symbols and shapes, but not so great on the memory (which object is missing, but you have to find it very quickly)...

My best ideas come to me in the early morning when i can't sleep. I have to do better about writing them down.

Everyday i have had something going on with family/friends/ such as graduation parties, workouts, wedding planning for my niece my other friend Drew, special appointments (i.e. financial planner, etc), meeting a friend tonight from my Zama Japan high school who i've not seen in 20 years (which was very cool)....etc..... anyway,  i've been way busier than i want to be so far this summer and i haven't even started my volunteer work yet!

Tomorrow i am not doing anything. I am not going to even answer the phone. Because it's my only free day. I see what folks mean when they say retirement can be busy.

I'm still mentally on your Italian vacation, Jo.

It's been too hot and humid. I'm having trouble adjusting to Washington humidity. I was a lot younger the first time. That has to be it. My hair looks awful every single day and I'm powerless against it. Plus, I'm constantly sweating. Too humid.

That's all I got.

I quite too Jo.

This is my first Monday in retirement. My plans (in np particular order) for today:

1. Finish up the dishes from a great party yesterday.
2. Do the laundry I ignored while cooking for said party.
3. Water the plants on the deck.
4. Re-hydrate.
5. Meet up with my friend Jillian.
6. Change the sheets in the guest room.
7. Shave my legs.
8. Do Sunday's crossword (or maybe - I don't feel that smart.
9. Write a letter of recommendation I promised to do last May.
10. Talk Jo into going to a movie.

It's 10:42: guess I better get started...

The movie was GREAT. I highly recommend "Chef". Great music, great acting, and super inspiring for foodies. Thanks Sarah!

Amanda. it's always a bad hair day on this side of Washington. YOu haven't been gone THAT long, don't you know? Congratulations again on your job!

And thanks for being here y'all. Brian has been working on a video with music of our Italy photos. Mostly his. And it's an hour long (that one is for us), but he's also making a shorter version of it that's 10 minutes long for anyone who wants to see the best shots of our trip, with music. Pretty cool.

Took me until Wednesday, but I completed my Monday To Do List (except for Sunday's crossword): Trouble is, it's time to shave my legs again and there is new laundry.

New Goals for the Week:
1. Sunday's Crossword
2. Jillian Everyday
3. Check on retirement life insurance.
4. Sample Jo's Sangrita - provide critique
5. Tackle one of my office boxes

I think the Just Pomegranate juice was too tart. Isn't it sweeter normally? I poured some over Pellegrino and nothing else and it was not what I was expecting.

My agenda for today:

1. Water fuchsias
2. Run early
3. Pick up wine basket
4. Read The Vacationers for most of the day
5. Check mail
6. Unfurl flag which needs to be done many times during the day, depending on the breeze.
7. Buy bday card for Pat.

8. Figure out how to delete my Facebook app on the iPad and reload it so I can read messages without that prompt for Messenger blocking me.

9. Balance checkbook .

10. Dust the top of my refrigerator.

11. Change this blog.
