Boring Blog Post

Here's a photo from last night. It's taken from Brian's iPhone and it's dark, but you can see the view.

That's Troy's (my brother) girlfriend on the left. I'm on the right. And THAT is HER view from her place on the Puget Sound. Going to dinner at her house is like having a one day vacation. (It reminds me of the place we go on Vashon Island.)

I loved my first week of vacation. Nice and lazy, but next week will be busier.

It was so warm today i broke down and bought a bottle of Bombay gin at Albertson's and we had our first gin and tonic by the pool. And the kids weren't even there today! It felt like the old days. (Only we still miss Dorothy.)

My Vacation to Do List for the Next Week:

1. Go see my Brian The Nephew skydive next Saturday on his 30th birthday.
2. Then later go to see Brian The Husband's band play that afternoon.
3. I might follow through with a garage sale with our condo community on Friday. Not sure i want to go through our storage to organize it though.
4. louie's house tomorrow for Emma The Daughter of Louie's bday.
5. Another bday party on the 12th for Brian the Husband's side of the family.
6. Having his mom and niece overnight for that party.
7. A game of gin for money this evening on the patio. (Updated to say that i lost $3, but it was VERY close.)
8. Maybe happy hour with louie and jj. Not sure which day.
9. Grey's Anatomy in the morning. I forgot to watch Season 7 i just realized. So i changed from Mad Men in the Morning plan to Grey's.
10. Making my bed.
11. Working on my tan.
12. Running a lot.
13. Naps, because i am not sleeping well AT ALL since i went off damn birth control pills. It's been a month now and i don't think i have slept more than two hours in a row since. The good thing is i can go back to sleep most nights. But i'm up every two hours.

Seems like i'm forgetting something. hmmmm.

Well, i needed to change the blog to keep my goal of one a week average by end of year. So this is it.

Your list is making me tired! Have fun.

I think after two weeks I'm finally recovered from Germany. I had a blast. I got to go to Alps and to Munich. I don't know what was my favorite as it was all my favorite. Germans are such a contradiction. They love enforcing the rules and get cranky when you don't follow them but they are very open to other cultures and people. Everyone was very nice (unless you broke a rule..hahaha). They are also really into walking, riding bikes..etc. Must be to make up for all the pretzels and really good beer.

I finished Wild today. Thank you for the recommendation. I really enjoyed it and now that I'm on the fitness track (23 lbs so far)..hiking seems like a good exercise for me. However, I won't be going out alone on the Appalachian trail anytime soon.

I need to get to bed. Have a great week!

I think i would make a good German. I can't believe i don't have any of it in me!

I'm glad you liked "Wild", susie! Have you checked out "The Art of Fielding"? It seems like you and i like the same books.

Also on my list of things to do was to use my bowling lessons coupon, but it's been way too nice outside to want to be indoors bowling. So i might see if i can use my archery lessons coupon first. I just have to find it.

Crazy day for me today

Woke up at 3:00, for some reason when I went to bed last night I set it for 3 – go figure
Not much sleep between 3 and 6 when it was really time to get up.

Had a peanut butter English muffin and my milk-coffee for breakfast while I made Ron’s smoothie and lunches for both of us.

At work by 7:10

At 8:30 got a call to go to a “Central Office Transformation” workshop in Renton with a bunch of district admin.

Got there in 30 minutes using my good-to-go-pass

Spent all day at a confusing workshop.

Left Renton at 3:57 -took 55 minutes to get home even with the good-to-go-pass

Did my Jillian Michaels’ workout with Em
Made dinner - served leftover chicken and peanut sauce over sautéed spinach; pretty good actually.

Visited my mom in the hospital

Came home took a shower.

Now it’s 9:40 and I’m ready for bed

At least I didn’t scrub any toilets or sinks

OOh, i can see where spinach and your peanut sauce with chicken would be a good dinner!
Why do you need a Good to Go for Renton? OOOH, that other bridge. I forget.

I didn't realize you had to go to work so early!

How long is Emma home with you? She should come out with us if we do Wed. or is that when your mom gets to come home???

Slept horribly again last night.
Watered patio plants.
Went for a 43 min. run.
stripped the sheets.
washed the sheets.
finished reading The Devil Star by Jo Nesbo. (Norwegian author, similar to the Dragon Tattoo books).
washed my hair.
dried my hair.
going to town to Barnes and Noble and also to pick up a pair of jeans being hemmed.
shopping online at bodenusa.com

I'm too tired to think about cooking dinner.
I think i need a nap.

I am a boring person because i am not bored by my day.

apparently i am too exhausted to think about punctuation

You're watching Mad Men! I'm so excited about that. I need Mad Men friends. What season are you on?

Betty Draper said only boring people are bored. That means you're not boring at all.

Amanda, OK, i actually have Mad Men on my queue but don't have it yet from netflix. Instead i am going to start with the 7th season of Grey's Anatomy that i mistakenly thought i had seen already. When i start Mad Men i'll have to start at Season 1!...so far i'm only seen episodes, not in order, on the AMC channel on Sunday mornings.
