Fume Blanc chilling. My battery is charged. I'm wearing Forever 21....Live blogging the Oscars!

A bottle of Ferrari Carrano fume blanc is chilling. I'm wearing my "I Love Drummers" shirt that my brother's girlfriend Pam bought me from Forever 21 at the mall. And i have on my expensive Garnet Hill yoga pants. The ones that i bought online. (I have never done any yoga in these pants. I should call them 'TV Watching Pants'. )

I'm not quite ready to start yet, but i needed to make sure that my netbook won't break down. I just checked and have 5 hours on my battery.

So far i love Jennifer Lawrence's dress. It looks like a wedding dress. I like her backwards long necklace and her hair. Plus she has a cool voice.

That little Beasts of the Southern Wild girl, Q, is pretty precocious. I don't dig prococious and so she has gone down a few notches in my admiration. I was pulling for her to win earlier.

I'll be back later when it gets going. I'm going to go look for a few photos. And then go see if the wine is sufficiently cool.

Gawd, i hope that is Bradley Cooper's mom. I missed who she was cause i was pouring wine. I love him! He's fabulous looking.

Nicole Kidman's dress is cool. black and gold and form fitting. Looks great. I think it's weird that her husband, whatzisname now speaks with her accent. I don't think he did before, did he? He is a country singer after all.

I wish i had an accent again.

jojo cucina cucina said...

The Red Carpet show is saying that Jennifer Lawrence is the Twitterers favorite for Best Dressed. I didn't know that when i was commenting. So far she is still my favorite. Besides, Kidman, I liked Catherine Zeta Jones too.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Jennifer Aniston was just interviewed. You know i'm pretty sure i would be terrible on an online interview (unless i was popping beta blockers), but she was actually banal and boring and frankly i expect more from Jennifer.

I was sort of wanting to hate on that little tiny Christine gal but now i'm starting to be entertained by her. She keeps asking everyone how tall they are because she is only 4 feet 11.

Let me say here that i think Adele is funny and cool.

George Clooney brought the same chick as last year. Wasn't expecting that. I liked her gold dress better from 2012.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Not loving Ann Hathaway's dress. It has that look of the old fashion pointy bras from back in the 60's. I don't like the apron-y neckline. It's Prada. I hate the color too. She's cute. She looks like Audrey Hepburn. She should be cast in a remake.

louielouie said...

sorry im late
just finished dinner. grilled new york steaks, roasted beets and potatoes with a green salad. ron's doing dishes.

I'm wearing christopher blue jeans, a caslon sweater and charter club black fuzzy scuffs

jojo cucina cucina said...

louie, i think you need to fix those darts on Hathaway's dress. It's the darts that look weird.

louielouie said...

drinking my molly dooker two left feet

louielouie said...

who is that tiny tiny person

jojo cucina cucina said...

Yay louie. i posted about you fixing ann's dress before i saw you were here. I forgot to mention my jewelry. I am wearing my Skagan watch and my silver Create necklace. Also my shoes are Airwalk mocassin style slippers.

I just want to say right here that i think Kristen Stewart is the biggest skank. She looks so ratty to me, not worthy of the Red Carpet. I never like her.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i wish i were at your house. That Molly Dooker kills. I like my fume blanc though too.

That tiny person is some kind of singer. Her name is Christen or Kristin. she was a substitute judge on American Idol a few times when i used to watch and i liked her on there. I don't know why she is famous though, except for maybe being only 4 feet 11 inches tall.

louielouie said...

it's voice that's killing me

louielouie said...

renee z is looking great

jojo cucina cucina said...

Ok, i can see from stats that some folks are reading, so please check in with louie and me and tell us what YOU are wearing?

I just want to say here that while i liked him in the movie. i do not want Daniel Day Lewis to win.

jojo cucina cucina said...

YES, her voice makes her sound like she has inhaled helium.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Renee does indeed look well. Not her usual squinty self.

OK here we gooooooooooooooooooo!
Bring it on Seth MacFarland!

louielouie said...

queen latifa should step on that teeny girl and squish her.

i am wearing no jewlery but i do have on cashmire argyle socks

jojo cucina cucina said...

susieatl? You out there?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Latifa is a giant.

I would hate to have to dress for the Red Carpet. I got a look at my bare elbows in the three way the other day at Nordstroms. They are not pretty. How do those women do that with their bare arms?

louielouie said...

i looooove tommy lee jones

jojo cucina cucina said...

Great opening joke at Tommy Lee Jones' expense.

jojo cucina cucina said...

I'm loving the Affleck support.

louielouie said...

mostly I'm in love with ben aflack and jennifer garner they seem like such normal people

jojo cucina cucina said...

they do! and i love how Jennifer looks like a regular mom in those Suri Burn book photos.

jojo cucina cucina said...

LOVE the Jodi Foster joke!

louielouie said...

so far I'm not excited about seth. maybe he's better behind the scenes. Shatner must be 1000 years old

jojo cucina cucina said...

The Captain Kirk thing is dumb.
Good editing on the We Saw your Boobs song.

It's kind of funny because it loosens the pretense of the Oscars, which i think always take themselves a little too seriously.

louielouie said...

love the we saw your boobs!!!

jojo cucina cucina said...

Seth looks a little too much like Peter Brady to be taken seriously.

louielouie said...

i am singing they way you look tonight with my mom and Molly Dooker

what could be better than that

jojo cucina cucina said...

I saw Flight last night. Thought it was really good. I wouldn't mind Denzel winning.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Is your mom there? Tell her i said hi! i never did ask if you liked the pan she bought you. She and i emailed back and forth about it during Christmastime.

jojo cucina cucina said...

All Sinatra songs?

louielouie said...

saw flight this weekend too

i like these actors dancing just not cpt kirck

louielouie said...

the pan is good, but she gave me the nonstick one. Ron already used Pam on it and messed it up a little.

jojo cucina cucina said...

The Sally Field Flying Nun bit was hilarious. Ann's going to win! hahahaha.

jojo cucina cucina said...

NOT my fault. I swear i specified not buying the nonstick. I even sent her photographs.

louielouie said...

i like the big production thing but lets get on with the awards.

octavia's dress is fantastice

louielouie said...

I know you did. I saw the photos

liked silver linings playbook but tommy lee rocks

jojo cucina cucina said...

Supporting Actor. I hope it's NOT DeNiro.
I'm pulling for PSH, that dude has such range.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i was going to say the same thing about Octavia's dress.

I am just glad DeNiro didn't win. I don't like that guy anymore.

louielouie said...

django unchained!?! didn't see it don't want to

jojo cucina cucina said...

I know everyone doesn't like Quentin Tarantino, but i love him. Brian and i rented Pulp Fiction again recently, we hadn't seen it in 10 years. But we loved it i think even more. Tarantino is a genius. He wasn't even 30 years old when he wrote that movie.

jojo cucina cucina said...

my nephew Brian wanted to see django on Christmas Day but i nixed it because it was not holiday fare. We all saw Lincoln instead. And we all fell asleep, all 5 of us, at one point during that movie. Though i did like it. I just think i need to rent it again. It's one of those movies you need to rewind.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i LOVE Paul Rudd! But this bit is really weird. John Travolta must have had hairplugs or he is wearing a toupee.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Do i have some time to make popcorn?

louielouie said...

just walked my mom out. this is her first time driving over here for dinner since last july

louielouie said...

he's wearing a skirt. hate to see that, it just encourages ron, thinks he should wear a kilt
you ahve time to make popcorn. sounds good

louielouie said...

i do not want to hear about, listen too, or see anything about Les Mes

we saw it as an actual opera in seattle years ago. have hated it since. I am not cultured enough for it I guess. Plu there were waaaay too many ads about the singing

jojo cucina cucina said...

OK, you take over while i go make popcorn!
The kilt is weird. Is Ron watching?
hahahah, does Ron want to wear a kilt to the wedding? If this guy can wear one to the Academy Awards i can see why you might be worried.

The Life of Pi movie looks odd. I don't care to see it. I'm still reading the book, but the beginning is slow going, i think it's just starting to kick in.

I loved the Beasts of the Southern Wild. My nephew Brian told me about it. the narration by Q was so poignant.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i cannot stand the hoopla around Le Mis either. It wasn't all that long ago that Liam Neeson made a version of this right? I could care less about that movie.

jojo cucina cucina said...

oooh, no popcorn yet. I love Mark Ruffalo, Sam L. and robert Downey Jr.

jojo cucina cucina said...

I bet life of pi wins.

louielouie said...

the life of pi was OK, we saw it in 3d though, I don't like 3d. would be worth renting
I didn't get the book finished before we saw it.

don't want to see anna karinena

jojo cucina cucina said...

Bet the music starts on this guy.

louielouie said...

the life or pi actor is a cutie

jojo cucina cucina said...

i was wrong. He got off. that is kind of weird that Samuel L. Jackson is wearing red and all those other guys with him are in tuxes.

louielouie said...

it's not weird, it's samuel jackson. he rocks a red velvet jacket

jojo cucina cucina said...

Time for popcorn!

jojo cucina cucina said...

hahahahaha.... i wasn't far off. the music that came on is hysterical, starting with Jaws. I knew those Life of Pi folks would stay up too long.

louielouie said...

totally cut that guy off. kind of tacky.

am looking forward to the james bond tribute

louielouie said...

have now transitioned into my braless ensemble for the evening; features green plaid flannel pajama paants

jojo cucina cucina said...

i am back. i could hear that i missed nothing. However how is this weird woman from Le Mis wearing those Gawd awful pink tights? She should not have been allowed inside.

louielouie said...

i want to look like halle berry.

she is gorgeous and classy

jojo cucina cucina said...

halle berry NEVER changes. I think i hate her.

jojo cucina cucina said...

don't the Oscars have a dress code?

jojo cucina cucina said...

wow Shirley Bassy. She must have been about 12 when she sange Goldfinger. How can she look THAT good. I was a little kid when that movie and song came out.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i just realize Shirley is wearing the exact dress i would want to wear if i were on the Red Carpet. It's strapless, but not really and she has those sleevie things to cover her ugly old elbows.

louielouie said...

get a load of Dame Shirley Bassey she is 76. Rock on!!

louielouie said...

mmm ron is making me popcorn. I'm going to drink some water with it; trying to hold off on the red wine

jojo cucina cucina said...

do you love that Molly wine?

louielouie said...

yes but it's a school night. It's early though - I figure I can be hung over by 8:30

jojo cucina cucina said...

i hear you. Fresca tastes better with popcorn anyway. But i'm not quite done with my fume blanc.

I really can't wait to see Argo. It's on my netflix and will be ready for my trip to Sequim!

i wish i could adopt Ben Affleck and Matt Damon or i wish they would marry my nieces. I love rooting for them all the time.

jojo cucina cucina said...

"150 years and it's still too soon" because the audience went ooooohhhh....re: the John Wilkes Booth joke about being in Lincoln's head. It made me laugh out loud.

jojo cucina cucina said...

not loving Ben's beard.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Best Documentary Searching for Sugarman. I put it here so i can find it later. I like to watch the Documentary winning films.

louielouie said...

I liked the joke too.

No Ben for your niece. he needs to stay with Jennifer. Not sure what Matt's up to these days

I loved Argo. think it may have been my favorite this last year

louielouie said...

My mid show assessment:

Seth is doing Ok but he's not great

The captain Kirk thing was severely stupid but i did like the Hollywood production type song and dance thing

Somehow the Jaws-cut-off music seems off

sorry I missed so many of the pre-show fashions

jojo cucina cucina said...

i LOVE that they play the Jaws music when the speeches go on too long. I wonder whose idea that was. Seth's? I feel like he's pretty comfortable in his role, not matter which way it goes, and that's why i like him hosting.

It's commercial so i will say this about Flight, which i just watched. What a good movie about character and alcoholism. How did they make you root for such a hot mess, hoping he would redeem himself. And Denzel was so good playing the doomed guy so close to being a hero. but such an anti-hero. He was so real that it was almost hard to watch. I was drinking a glass of wine while watching and after awhile i poured a Fresca instead. I remember Leaving Las Vegas made me feel the same way when Nicholas Cage played that role. But Denzel did the cocaine high very well too. Reminded me a lot of my ex.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Why does Amour get to be in the BEST PICTURE after it already wins Best Foreign Film? I don't like that this happens. they should not be allowed to be in Best Picture if they win this one.

jojo cucina cucina said...

YAY... John Travolta is another actor i like pulling for. He looks great. So how did he get that hair?

Like i said earlier i just watched Pulp Fiction last week and he looks better now than back then which was 1994.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Wow, Catherine Z-J looks fabulous. Is that her really singing? I'm not saying it's great singing, cause i don't love it, but it surprises me. I never saw Chicago.

louielouie said...

john travolta makes me barf

chicago was a good move. you should see it. Catherine z-j was great so was renee z

jojo cucina cucina said...

i LIKE john. i just try not to think about the Scientology stuff.

Did you catch Jane Fonda in the cutaway? She looks so amazing!

Glad to see that Jack Nicholson still gets a front seat.

oh gawd, miserable movie stuff. I could make some more popcorn. i hate this kind of stuff so much.

louielouie said...

she sells her hair

she sells her teeth

I am NOT seeing Les Mis

think I'll go to the bathroom now.

Why were Dream Girls and Chicago featured?

jojo cucina cucina said...

i'm going to check my email.

louielouie said...

did see jane, she looked great

Ron's afraid Les Mis will get best picture

what is Anne Hathaway wearing?

louielouie said...

www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-oscars-2013-the-drinking-game-20130224,0,6153866.story

am also not seeing that Wizard of Oz movie. Didn't even like the first Oz movie

louielouie said...

hey, we saw Paperman. It was fun

jojo cucina cucina said...

Ruseel Crowe was not in Miz was he? Why was he on that stage. and also that weird Helen Bonham Carter who is married to that other weird guy who made Edward Scissorhands. (though i loved that movie.)

jojo cucina cucina said...

i'm afraid like Ron is. uggg. so typical of The Academy.

i don't want to see that movie, but i think i want to see Zero Dark Thirty. I remember i didn't think i wanted to see Hurt Locker and then i was riveted by that movie and thought about it the next day.

I'm glad Miz didn't get any Sound Editing.

I also think i want to see Skyfall.

jojo cucina cucina said...

I think i need to go find some cheese.

louielouie said...

was checking the photos on an oscar red carpet link and saw her. don't know what her story is.

did like skyfall

what's with all these old dudes and the long hair?

jojo cucina cucina said...

i am too lazy to cut and paste your link about the dirnking game. What is the jist of it?

louielouie said...

i forgot Christopher Plummer was in the sound of music. still my all time favorite music

louielouie said...

it's about seth, his bad shows and movies and referneces

jojo cucina cucina said...

Ann will win because she cut off her hair.

louielouie said...

That dress is bad. she needs a bra and about 20 pounds

I really liked Silver linings Playbook

jojo cucina cucina said...

Ann won before right? her speech should have been:

"You like me. You really like me!"

hahahaha...wouldn't that be funny since she was up against Sally Field.

She is thanking way too many people. That is always always dangerous because you end up leaving out people.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i mentioned earlier that you needed to fix her dress.

Why did they play The Godfather music as she was walking off?

louielouie said...

that would have been funny. she's so sincere. is that why "I don't like her?

louielouie said...

Adele!!!

jojo cucina cucina said...

i think i know what you mean about Ann being so sincere. I don't like Nicole Kidman for reasons i don't even know.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i do like her dress a lot though.
Where are we here now? They are showing best picture previews. I was typing out my margarita recipe because i got a Facebook message from our friend Greg who is on our bowling league asking me for my recipe because we talked about it last week.

It took me awhile to type out.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Kristen is a hot mess. Talking about hot messes.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Who is that old guy who said he loved his wife Adele? He means THE Adele? I know she looks like she's 45 years old, but she is really only about 23 years old, right?

louielouie said...

Kristin Chenoweth? yeah, but she's 4 foot 11; isn't that enough.

was it Selma Hyak who was Alec Baldwin's mother's nurse on 30 rock?

louielouie said...

Ron says not THE Adele, he kissed his wife on the way up, must be her, Adele

jojo cucina cucina said...

What are the odds that there are TWO women named Adele at the Oscars. not quite the same as if there were two girls with that Q name, the Beasts of the Southern Wild kid. But almost.

I always like seeing the Memorials. I really liked that Green Mile actor. Most of these i don't know since they are behind the scenes.

Nora Ephron. Forgot about her. She was not old.

Wow, Barbra Streisand surprise!!

louielouie said...

Barbra still gots it

jojo cucina cucina said...

Barbra doesn't like her elbows either. She's wearing a dress i would choose. For Marvin Hamlisch.

She looks great!

I just know, though, that i would not want to hang out with Barbra ever. she sounds like she has a cold. she sounds alittle raspy-ish.

louielouie said...

I added The Way We Were to my Netflix

louielouie said...

needs to cut that hair. too long and too blonde for an old gal

let me help you pick your dress when you go to the
Oscars. None of those chocker necklaces for you, or weird darts and I would insist on a bra.

I could help you look great!!

louielouie said...

Queen Latifa is the best.

I forgot she was in Chicago. I'm going to add this to my Netflix too

jojo cucina cucina said...

We just watched that right before Christmas and loved it. Robert Redford is so amazing in that movie. I didn't quite appreciate the politics of that movie, or Redford when i first saw that movie when i was about 16 years old. It's a great movie.

the Chicago cast with Richard Gere presenting looks fabulous. Latifa, CZJ, Renee, and Gere.

What award are we giving now? i was talking to my husband who just came home from band pratice.

Latifa just announced it but i couldn't understand here. Oh, Life of Pi. Original Score.

Oh.... i keep thinking. omg, are we already on Best Picture? But how could that be?

It happens though when you are live blogging and checking on Facebook that you miss some stuff.

jojo cucina cucina said...

I bet Adele wins with Skyfall, though i have to say that Scarlett J. can sing as well as she can pout. And that's saying something.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Nora Jones looks like she's 45 years old. What is with her and Adele? And her hair is stupid too.

This is a terrible song. It won't win.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Good for Adele! i think she is cool.

louielouie said...

The Chicago group IS looking great. Glad Adele won. I love her

jojo cucina cucina said...

We're getting down to it. Here is what i hope.

Best Actress: That Q kid, only because it's something different. (Though i'm sure Jessica Chastain will win.)

Best Actor: Denzel Washington (Though i'm sure Daniel Day Lewis will win.)

Best Picture: Argo (Though i'm certain Les Mis or Lincoln will win.)

jojo cucina cucina said...

i sorta wouldn't mind it if Bradley Cooper won too, but i don't see that movie being Oscar worthy. I say that though i didn't see it, i only read the book and it was good, but i can't picture it as an Oscar winning movie.

BTW....Where are Brad Pitt and Angelina tonight?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Hard to imagine that Charlize played in Monster. She is so pretty. Not many women can pull off short pixie hair like she does. You have to have perfect bones in your face. and gorgeous skin.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Tarantino for best screenplay. That's my hope.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Yay!

jojo cucina cucina said...

My battery is getting low i just got warned. Good thing we're almost done. why are they playing Gone with the Wind music? I think this Oscar music is kind of weird. I keep thinking the song is supposed to match the actor or the award.

louielouie said...

I really liked Silver Linings Playbook, but don't think it's an all time winner. Ron thinks it could get best actress.

He thinks Hugh Jackson will get best actor, None of then stood out to me. I wouldn't be mad if Daniel Day Lewis won

I did think Argo was the best I saw - liked it better than Lincoln.

Ron's rooting for Life of Pi

am actually enjoying the commercials

louielouie said...

plugged in my power earlier.

The music has to do with the tribute this year - they were doing singing in the rain earlier

seth just is not doing it for me

louielouie said...

what the hell is Amour?

jojo cucina cucina said...

LOVE Jane Fonda's yellow dress because it stands out and she just looks great. Michael looks like he's finally getting over whatever he was getting over.

Best Director: Ang Lee or Spielberg will win. I wish it was someone else.

louielouie said...

Jane looks great. think i was all those exercise videos she did in the 80s. plus her dress is age appropriate.

Michael does look better but he is still old

louielouie said...

I like Ang Lee's wife. she makes me glad he won it

jojo cucina cucina said...

Why doesn't the Academy love Spielberg so much? I noticed Jennifer Lawrence taking her time standing up for Ang Lee since her director didn't win.

I haven't seen Life of Pi, but i haven't been dying to either. So it's hard for me to love this choice. I wasn't crazy about Brokeback Mountain either. It was good, but not great. A better love story among cowboys that same year was Unfinished Life with Morgan Freeman and Robert Redford and they weren't even gay. But they seemed to love each other more than Jake and Heath.

Watch both movies back to back and see if you don't agree.

jojo cucina cucina said...

i better go plug in.

jojo cucina cucina said...

ok. Best Actress set up by that The Artist Best Actor last year. I never saw The Artist and didn't care.

I bet Jessica Chastain wins.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Jessica Chastain managed to make that vein in her forehead throb when she was angry.

I would love the Q girl to win.

jojo cucina cucina said...

WOW. she fell down. oops. Embarrasing but at least she didnt' pop out or show some underpants. i love that dress. i am surprised. I like upsets during the Oscars. Nice short speech. I like her.

jojo cucina cucina said...

Cause i know i will forget this next year if i come back and read this: Jennifer Lawrence just won.

She was adorable.

Now we are on Best Actor: I like Bradley Cooper alot.

But Daniel DL will get it i bet.

Amy said...

Hi Jo! Just popping in.

So happy for Jennifer Lawrence. Did Maryl Streep (sp?) just pick her butt?

-Amy

jojo cucina cucina said...

I'm still pulling for Denzel.

louielouie said...

my vote was for Denzel

oh well

jojo cucina cucina said...

AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i missed Meryl Streep picking her butt. You mean like pulling her pantyhose out of her crack? I will play it back after to see.

louielouie said...

she did pick her butt!! i missed it but Ron saw it.

Daniel Day Lewis is funny. I'm Ok that he won

jojo cucina cucina said...

Daniel Day Lewis has the funniest speech of the night though i think. Just tells me he was so sure he was going to win so he hired speech writers.

louielouie said...

crazy that michele is doing this must be Lincoln

jojo cucina cucina said...

Wow, check out Michelle Obama. LOVE her dress. She is helping introduce Best Picture nominees? I love it, but if i were a Republican i would be going, what the f*ck?

jojo cucina cucina said...

Go Argo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's my hope.

louielouie said...

I'm not a Republican and I'm going what the f*ck

jojo cucina cucina said...

Yay!!!!!!! i haven't even seen it. But i'm happy.

louielouie said...

am happy it's Argo. would have been Ok with anything but Les Mis

this producer dud is the best

jojo cucina cucina said...

Damn my own blog cut me off like Ben Affleck was worried about. I lost my post. Anyway, i liked Ben's rushed speech and how he teared up when he mentioned his daughters.

How did they pen those Song to the Losers lyrics so quickly. Maybe the song was written and sealed.so they are reading them off a teleprompter.

Ok. i'm done. My netbook is petering out even though i plugged it in. Not sure this post will go through. Can't believe i've been doing this for 5 hours. It was hard finding the funny in this year's Oscars.

thanks louie for being here. And good to see you Amy. I'm rewinding to check out Meryl now.

louielouie said...

want to see the Jimmy Kimmel special but ron has turned to a NCIS

I'm done
