People Whose Asses I Would Kick and Other Random List Topics from 2013

These heart shaped rocks are on the windowsill at our favorite vacation spot on Vashon Island. Rita, the owner collects them.

Looking back at 2013:

Notable books read: Big Brother by Lionel Shriver and We are Water by Wally Lamb and Where'd You Go Bernadette? and Life of Pi

Funniest blog post i wrote this year: (i didn't have very many funny ones, but i do think this one is good... it's another religious theme, like my favorite from last year ...or the year before.) Click here for jo's funniest blog post 2013

Accomplishment: Half marathon for the second year in a row.  (I have no plans so far to run another this year. I'm lucky to still be able to run.) It was my 4th time and my best time running (I think): 1:58).  My other amazing feat for 2013 was that i actually cataloged every single recipe that i have saved over years and years into organized and tidy files. It took me 9 hours, but it was worth it.  When i go looking for my spring risotto recipe i can now find it in less than 2 minutes !

Favorite movies: Django Unchained, Silver Linings Playbook, Life of Pi

New Vacation Spot: Manzanita, Oregon! Can't wait to go back this summer.

Discoveries: Nick Waterhouse (Musician, similar sound to The Black Keys); Thug Kitchen click here for Thug Kitchen's website. Warning: language!

People Whose Asses I Would Kick if it Were Not a Crime: Miley Cyrus. And Christina Aguilar and many folks in Congress - (too many to name because i'm trying to keep this blog shorter!), and anyone driving those huge SUVs who try to turn left (when i want to turn right) on a busy street but take up both the lanes for turning left AND right.

Best Celebrities of 2013:  Jennifer Lawrence, Russell Wilson (Seahawks), Richard Sherman, Bradley Cooper.

Best Commercials: i LOVE commercials and think it would have been great to work for advertising agency. In the past years it was the E-Trade Baby. Then the All State Insurance Mayhem ads with Dean Winters. Now it's AT&T's "It's Not Complicated" ones with the little kids sitting around the the table answering the questions from the spokesman.

Best Purchase: It actually overlaps both 2013 and 2014 since it won't be completed until next week. But i think it's going to be my newly reupholstered sofa, which is being done in a dark cranberry-ish red.

Notes to Self:
Sunset: 4:32
Sunrise: 7:57 am
Temp: 54/40
Longest Run: 63 minutes
Word Count: 388

If anybody is reading, y'all should come and add your own lists for 2013!

Like re-arranging the furniture in my living room i like to change up my blog too. This photo was taken by Brian last September at my sister in law's bday party. I am wearing my brother's Cajun hat - as many of us were that night. It's actually a hat i bought him that is exactly like my flyfishing one but he added stuff to his. It was a blurry photo so i filtered it even more.

I hope some of y'all who are reading but not posting will do so at some point. Lists are easy to reply to. You can go off mine or add our own topic. I will continue to try and keep these shorter than past blog posts by doing the word count....hoping that shorter attracts more people to respond.

I will keep writing even if only to myself, but it's just not as fun.

This is ridiculous. The stats are copied and pasted below. it shows that there were 516 pageview today and over 300 of them are from that vampire stats bogus site. If someone knows how to block them from blogger let me know. I've googled this trying to find a way and haven't yet. It happens every time i put up a new post. It's creepy.

You are so cute Lil' JoJo. I love your posts. My only question, is it really a crime to kick Miley Cyrus's butt?

Hahaha...NO it would not be but you caught my edit. I originally titled this People I Would Kill if it Was Not a Crime. But then I had a glass of wine while writing and I mellowed out and changed the title before posting. 'Killing's is too harsh even for my blog!

Damn.... is my grammar wrong again on the tucking was/ were????? ...If it Were Not a Crime? I do not know which is correct. I am going with ' was. '.....maybe pearl and Louis can weigh in on this.

My kindlefire died (after only two years....) and so i've been posting from Brian's kindlefire which has that fucking autocorrect! I HATE autocorrect! And so it changed my previous post 'fucking' to 'tucking'. Plus it wouldn't let me write the word 'was' out with single quotes and kept changing it to 'saw' for some stupid reason. I don't know how y'all use all that stuff on your cell phones.

I hate posting from small devices and want to only post from a desktop which is like me carrying around a giant boombox just to listen to music in the current world as they did back in the early 80's before cds were invented.

Happy 2014!

Here are my 2013 notables:
• Most Notable Book - I don't know that I actually read a whole book in 2013. I feel shame, but I can't seem to get through a whole one. I get bored too easily.

• Biggest Accomplishment - Surviving four months with the world's worst employee, only to find that all employees are sorta bad, and everyone is annoying. Being a boss sucks.

• Notable Movies - Django Unchained was fantastic. I also loved World War Z, which I saw twice and could see even more, and Killing Them Softly, another Brad Pitt movie that was amazing. After poopooing Brad Pitt for more than a decade, I'm finally coming around. I sorta love him now. (Except that I saw Tree of Life last weekend and it was a mega-turd. He looked handsome, though.)

• Notable Vacations - We had our honeymoon camping outside of Crater Lake National Park. Best four days ever. I love that area so much. I definitely need to check out Manzanita, though.

• Notable Discoveries - I really miss Washington. My parents won't visit me even when I'm an hour away (they haven't visited once in a year). I need to be where I'm most happy and find a job that isn't total ass.

• Butts in Need of Kicking - Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. They annoy me. I would also like to submit my landlord's name. She's a complete mess.

• Notable Celebrities - I love Jennifer Lawrence. I also love Rashida Jones. She wrote an editorial in Entertainment Weekly about how young female celebrities need to stop being skanky. I really loved it. I worry about young women feeling their only value is physical. They're in for a rough go at middle age if they don't start seeing themselves as more than a piece of ass now.

• Notable Commercials - I never get tired of Kmart's "I shipped my pants" commercials.

Amanda i think you would love Manzanita because it's not as touristy as Cannon Beach. I do not like vacationing where families turn out in droves and walk so slow in front of me. And Cannon Beach makes me crazy for that sort of thing.

I wanted to add more 2013 accomplishments because sometimes i need to look back and know when stuff happened.

1. After 34 years of allergy shots i stopped getting them in August. And so far so good.

2. Menopause Happens. one year no period was Jan 5. I went off birth control pills in 2012 and have taken no hormones and amazingly enough have not killed anyone either. After some bumpy months of not sleeping i'm doing better, however i already see that my skin is getting older, looser and just even more icky. I don't think i will mind being an old lady, i just don't like the transitioning period. It's a little like a tan fading or growing out your hair to it's natural color or previous length. Only worse.

testing 1-2-3.... my little netbook has been configured/defragged and stuff uninstalled off it by our IT guy. Amazon can go fuck themselves with their stupid lemon of a Kindlefire that broke last week after only 2 years.

Now i can live blog the Golden Globes this Sunday and the Academy Awards next month! This thing is running soooo much better now. I am happy!

Are you blogging the golden globes?

jojo cucina cucina said...

I watched tonight and they were actually way more boring than i thought they were going to be. AND i took forever for the actors to get to the stage. I will live blog the Academy Awards. I have way more to say. They're the big time. Golden Globes are just the stepsister of the Oscar. So many things fell flat i thought. Even Tina Fey and Amy Poehler weren't as funny as i was expecting. Plus my newly defragmented netbook is not as fast as i thought it originally was.

I tried to change the blog tonight but i didn't have anything to say really so i just saved it to draft and left it alone.
